Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Outdoor Learning

Located on the Lower Putney Common, we make regular use of our location for a variety of outdoor learning experiences.

Outdoor learning provides an opportunity for children to develop a relationship between themselves and the natural world. Here they foster resilience, confidence, independence, creativity and problem solving through planned activities which offer the children the opportunity to take managed risks appropriate to the environment and themselves. We also incorporate outdoor learning into other parts of the curriculum where we can. Throughout the year, parents and carers are invited to join a session, which reinforces the positive experience for the children.

Our Awards

Gold Green Tree School Award

Students at Oasis Academy Putney were awarded gold by The Woodland Trust because of their green activities, a remarkable achievement as they completed part of the award while separated during the nation’s first lockdown.

Oasis Academy Putney pupils joined together virtually for an assembly to read ‘The Man Who Planted Trees’ and reflect on one person’s ability to make a big difference for the better. They also found inspiration for advocacy from trees spotted during ‘lock-down walks.’
