Exciting new wormery at Oasis Academy Putney - where nature comes alive!

We are thrilled to announce our new arrival to school today - our very own wormery!! A big thank you to our volunteer Suzanne, who not only donated it to us (she wanted to re-home it to a new loving home 💙), but also showed us how to set it up and taught us lots of interesting facts all about worms!! We particularly loved developing our 'worm charming' techniques as we collected worms from the wormery without any digging involved!

This fits perfectly with our eco-target of waste.  In addition to adding our fruit waste to our newly established compost bin in school, we can now share our fruit waste, with our wormery.  We can’t wait until our wormery gives us ‘worm tea’ so we can fertilise our plants and flowers to help them grow!
