Oasis Putney Eco Champions interview Rosie from The Scrubbery

Oasis Putney Eco Champions interview Rosie from The Scrubbery

To get more inspiration as we work towards our school Eco Target of ‘Waste’, our Eco Team were lucky enough to be able to interview Rosie, who works at our local Scrub Hub, sewing scrubs and other essential protective clothing for NHS hospitals and healthcare providers across South West London.

Rosie is a champion for recycling and upcycling things that others might throw away and turning them into something new and useful. She gave us a little tour around the scrub rooms and showed us examples of some of the things they have made.

We were all very inspired by what we saw and these are some of the things that really caught our Eco Team’s attention:

‘I liked seeing the scrub hats that they make for the doctors,’ Benaiah

‘It is so amazing that Rosie can turn waste into things! ‘ Penny

‘I liked seeing the sewing machines a lot!‘ Max

‘Rosie turned duvets and blankets into board rubbers for our school.‘ Kai

‘I liked that Rosie made the blankets out of scraps for children in hospital.’ Marta

‘I like that Rosie recycles lots of things.’ Anna

Our job now as an Eco Team is to think of ways that we can reduce waste around our school and in our homes and add it to our Action Plan.
